Buses replace subway north of Wilson Station,
Weekends, February 5 to April 17

Update — February 17, 10:53 a.m.: The TTC postponed the work during the Family Day long weekend, Saturday, February 19 and Sunday, February 20. Subway trains operate with regular service between Downsview and Wilson Stations.

The TTC continues its program of maintaining the subway tracks on weekends. Next up: the section of the 1 Yonge - University - Spadina subway between Downsview and Wilson Stations.

(In fact, the TTC is doing more than just maintaining the tracks. It’s working on connecting a tunnel from the Wilson Yard to the main subway tracks — part of the project to extend the subway to York University and Vaughan.)

You’ll have to board a bus if you want to travel between Downsview and Wilson Stations most weekends until mid-April. The subway is closed between the two stations Saturdays and Sundays,

  • February 5 and 6, 12 and 13 and 19 and 20,
  • March 5 and 6, 19 and 20 and 26 and 27 and
  • April 2 and 3 and 16 and 17.

Those weekends, all 1 Yonge - University - Spadina subway trains operate between Wilson and Finch Stations only from about 5:30 a.m. Saturdays until 1:30 a.m. Sundays and from about 9 a.m. Sundays until 12:30 a.m. Mondays. (From about 12:30 until 1:30 a.m. Mondays, as the TTC project to repair the tunnels north of Eglinton Station also continues, trains operate between Wilson and Eglinton Stations only.)

Regular service along the entire 1 Yonge - University - Spadina line resumes at 5:30 a.m. Mondays.

Frequent buses replace the subway between Downsview and Wilson Stations and serve the bus terminals of each station.

If you require accessible service, you’ll have to board and exit the subway at Downsview or Eglinton West Stations. (Wilson does not have an elevator, so it is not an accessible station. Eglinton West is the next accessible station to the south.) The TTC is reserving accessible WheelTrans buses to carry passengers in wheelchairs or who use other mobility devices between Downsview and Eglinton West Stations. The WheelTrans buses drop off and pick up passengers at all subway stations between the two terminals.
