Buses replace subway north of Wilson this weekend

TTC contractors working on the project to extend the 1 Yonge - University - Spadina subway will be busy this weekend, as they start to connect the main subway tracks to a new tunnel from the Wilson Subway Yard.

To accommodate the work, the TTC is shutting down subway service between Downsview and Wilson Stations all day Saturday, February 5 and Sunday, February 6.

All 1 Yonge - University - Spadina subway trains operate between Wilson and Finch Stations only from about 5:30 a.m. Saturday until 1:30 a.m. Sunday and from about 9 a.m. Sunday until 12:30 a.m. Monday. (From about 12:30 until 1:30 a.m. Monday, as the TTC project to repair the tunnels north of Eglinton Station also continues, trains operate between Wilson and Eglinton Stations only.)

Frequent buses replace the subway between Downsview and Wilson Stations and serve the bus terminals of each station.

If you require accessible service, you can only board and exit the subway at Downsview or Eglinton West Stations. (Wilson does not have an elevator, so it is not an accessible station. Eglinton West is the next accessible station to the south.) The TTC is reserving accessible WheelTrans buses to carry passengers in wheelchairs or who use other mobility devices between Downsview and Eglinton West Stations. The WheelTrans buses drop off and pick up passengers at all subway stations between the two terminals.

Regular service along the entire 1 Yonge - University - Spadina line resumes at 5:30 a.m. Monday.
