Delays on Milton GO line likely continue today

Update — February 15, 5:03 p.m.: Regular service has resumed.

Since late last week, malfunctioning signals between Milton and Lisgar GO Stations have delayed GO Transit passengers traveling along the 21 Milton line.

GO and Canadian Pacific Railway staff have investigated these problems and have determined that they have to replace parts of the signals to make sure they function again without problems.

The problem should not affect most morning trips since trains cross over to a parallel track to bypass the area. However GO trains share the track with freight trains in the evening, possibly delaying each train for as much as 15 minutes.

The signal problems will continue to affect commuting times for the next five to seven days until the parts arrive and CP Rail crews install and test them.
