Buses replace parts of Yonge - University - Spadina subway
this weekend, March 12, 13 and 14

The TTC is closing parts of the 1 Yonge - University - Spadina subway line for three different projects this weekend.

First, contractors working on the project to extend the Spadina leg line of the subway to York University and Vaughan will be busy again all day Saturday and Sunday. They’ll be connecting the main subway tracks to a new tunnel from the Wilson Subway Yard.

Other workers repair tracks between St. Clair West and St. George Stations Sunday morning and early afternoon only.

The ongoing project to repair the tunnels of the Yonge leg of the line north of Eglinton Station also continues this weekend.

To accommodate the work, the TTC is shutting down subway service

  • between Downsview and Wilson Stations all day Saturday, March 12 and Sunday, March 13;
  • between St. Clair West and St. George Stations before 2 p.m. Sunday, March 13; and
  • between Finch and Eglinton Stations from 12:30 until 1:30 a.m. Monday, March 14.

Buses replace the subway trains whenever the subway is closed.

The work does not affect service along the 2 Bloor - Danforth subway line.

  • Frequent buses replace the subway between Downsview and Wilson Stations and serve the bus terminals of each station.
  • If you require accessible service, you can only board and exit the subway at Downsview or Eglinton West Stations. (Wilson does not have an elevator, so it is not an accessible station. Eglinton West is the next accessible station to the south.)
