You can use PRESTO cards at Aurora GO Station,
starting March 17

You can use PRESTO fare cards at Aurora GO Station, starting tomorrow, Thursday, March 17, as Aurora becomes the next PRESTO “agency” at a GO station.

At a PRESTO agency, you can

  • buy a PRESTO card,
  • “load” value onto your card,
  • check your balance and
  • make various other transactions.

At Aurora GO Station, you can use your PRESTO card to pay fares on all GO Transit trains serving the station. You can’t use the card to pay your fare on GO or York Region Transit buses. (YRT passengers can expect to start using PRESTO cards on all buses this summer.)

Aurora is the last station along the 65 Barrie line to receive PRESTO services.

You can now use PRESTO at all stations along the 01 Lakeshore West, 21 Milton and 65 Barrie lines and most stations along the 09 Lakeshore East and 31 Georgetown lines.

Next week: Stations along the 61 Richmond Hill line.

Read Transit Toronto’s June 4, 2010 post for more information about using PRESTO cards on GO trains.
