Buses replace streetcars along Roncesvalles Avenue,
starting Sunday, March 27

The ongoing City of Toronto project to rebuild the roadway and sidewalks along Roncesvalles Avenue enters its final phase on Sunday, March 27 — and that means that the TTC is again replacing streetcars operating along the 504 King route with buses along Roncesvalles Avenue and Dundas Street West. During the construction, the TTC is also detouring buses operating along the 313 Jane overnight route.

Contractors have been working on the project since summer of 2009. First, they removed the streetcar tracks and dug up the street to install watermains. Now they’re restoring and improving the “streetscape”. The City expects to finish the entire project by early July.
