Metrolinx / GO rail project closes Lansdowne bridge,
TTC detours buses, April 2, 3 and 4



Update — March 31, 3:40 p.m.: The TTC is also detouring buses operating along the 47B / 47C Lansdowne route at Yorkdale for six weeks, starting Friday, April 1.


Metrolinx and GO Transit are proceeding with their project to improve the Georgetown South rail corridor and build the future Air Rail Link.

This weekend, the City of Toronto is closing:

  • Lansdowne Avenue between Dundas Street West and Rideau Avenue

while Metrolinx and GO Transit contractors working on the bridge that carries GO’s 31 Georgetown trains across the roadway.

During the work, a crane will block the roadway and the TTC is detouring buses operating along the 47 Lansdowne, 313 Jane overnight and 504 King shuttle buses.

(The 313 Jane overnight and 504 King shuttle buses are already detouring around construction on Roncesvalles Avenue.)


313 Jane overnight

From about 2 until 5 a.m. on Sunday, April 3 and Monday, April 4, southbound buses operate along their current detour route to Dundas Street West and Lansdowne Avenue, then detour:

eastward along Dundas West;
southward along Dufferin Street; and then
westward along Queen Street West to Lansdowne Avenue,
resuming their regular route westward along Queen West.

Southbound buses skip their regular detour stops

  • on Lansdowne Avenue south of Rideau Avenue, at #106 Lansdowne, Seaforth Avenue and Queen Street West.

Instead, southbound buses drop off and pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Dundas Street West at Brock and Sheridan Avenues and Dufferin Street,
  • on Dufferin Street at Gordon Street and across from and south of Alma Avenue and
  • on Queen Street West at Brock, O’Hara and Lansdowne Avenues.

Northbound buses operate along their regular route.

504 King shuttle bus

From about 5 a.m. on Saturday, April 2 until 5 a.m. on Monday, April 4, southbound buses operate along their current detour route to Dundas Street West and Lansdowne Avenue, then detour:

eastward along Dundas West;
southward along Dufferin Street; and then
westward along Queen Street West to Lansdowne Avenue,
resuming their regular route westward along Queen West.

Southbound buses skip their regular detour stops

  • on Lansdowne Avenue south of Rideau Avenue, at #106 Lansdowne, Seaforth Avenue and Queen Street West.

Instead, southbound buses drop off and pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Dundas Street West at St. Clarens Avenue (Sunday only), Brock and Sheridan Avenues and Dufferin Street,
  • on Dufferin Street at Gordon Street and across from and south of Alma Avenue and
  • on Queen Street West at Brock, O’Hara and Lansdowne Avenues.

Northbound buses operate along their regular route.

47 Lansdowne

From about 5 a.m. on Saturday, April 2 until 5 a.m. on Monday, April 4, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Dundas Street West and Lansdowne Avenue, then detour:

eastward along Dundas West;
southward along Dufferin Street;
westward along Queen Street West;
northward along Macdonnell Avenue;
eastward along Seaforth Avenue; and then
southward along Lansdowne Avenue to Queen Street West,
ending their trips.

  • on Lansdowne Avenue south of Rideau Avenue, at #106 Lansdowne and Seaforth Avenue.

Instead, southbound buses drop off and pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Dundas Street West at St. Clarens Avenue (Sunday only), Brock and Sheridan Avenues and Dufferin Street,
  • on Dufferin Street at Gordon Street and across from and south of Alma Avenue,
  • on Queen Street West at Brock, O’Hara and Lansdowne Avenues,
  • on Macdonnell Avenue north of Queen Street West and at Seaforth Avenue,
  • on Seaforth Avenue at Lansdowne Avenue and
  • on Lansdowne Avenue at Queen Street West.

(Usually, northbound buses serve the stops on Macdonnell and Seaforth Avenues.)

Northbound buses start their trips on Lansdowne Avenue at Queen Street West, as usual, then proceed:

eastward along Queen West,
northward along Dufferin Street; and then
westward along Dundas Street West to Lansdowne,
resuming their regular route northward along Lansdowne.

Northbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Macdonnell Avenue north of Queen Street West and at Seaforth Avenue,
  • on Seaforth Avenue at Lansdowne Avenue and
  • on Lansdowne Avenue across from #104 Lansdowne and Rideau Avenue and at Dundas Street West.

(During the detour, southbound buses serve the stops on Macdonnell and Seaforth Avenues.)

Instead, northbound buses drop off and pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Queen Street West at Dunn Avenue, Cowan Avenue (Sunday only), across from Brock Avenue and at Dufferin Street,
  • on Dufferin Street at Alma Avenue and across from Gordon Street and
  • on Dundas Street West at Sheridan and Brock Avenues, St. Clarens Avenue (Sunday only) and Lansdowne Avenue.
