TTC repairs tracks at Queen / Broadview:
detours streetcars, operates buses, April 9, 10, 11



The TTC is repairing the streetcar tracks switches on Queen Street East at Broadview Avenue this weekend.

The TTC is detouring streetcars operating along the 301 Queen overnight, 501 Queen and 504 King routes.

It’s operating 301 / 501 Queen and 504 King shuttle buses to replace the cars during the track repair project.


504 King

From 7 a.m. on Saturday, April 9 until 4:30 a.m. on Monday, April 11, westbound streetcars operate along their regular route to Broadview Avenue and Dundas Street East, then detour:

westward along Dundas East; and then
southward along Parliament Street to King Street East,
resuming their regular route westward along King East.

Westbound cars skip their regular stops

  • on Broadview Avenue at Queen Street East;
  • on Queen Street East at Carroll Street;
  • on King Street East at Sumach and Sackville Street, across from Trinity Street and at Parliament Street.

Instead, westbound cars drop off and pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Dundas Street East at Munro, River, Sumach, Sackville and Parliament Streets,
  • on Parliament Street at Shuter Street, Queen, Richmond, Adelaide and King Streets East.

Eastbound cars reverse the detour routing.

Eastbound cars skip their regular stops

  • on King Street East at Trinity, Sackville, Sumach and St. Lawrence Streets,
  • on Queen Street East across from Carroll Street and at Broadview Avenue and
  • on Broadview Avenue north of Queen Street East and at Dundas Street East.

Instead, eastbound cars drop off and pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Parliament Street at Richmond and Queen Streets East, Shuter Street and Dundas Street East,
  • on Dundas Street East at Sackville, Sumach, River and Munro Streets and Broadview Avenue.

Shuttle buses replace the cars, operating between Broadview Station and King Street East at Parliament Street.

504 King shuttle bus

After 7 a.m. on Saturday, April 9 and all day Sunday, April 10, westbound buses start their trips in Broadview Station, then proceed:

southward along Broadview Avenue; and then
westward along Queen and King Streets East to Parliament Street,
ending their trips.

Westbound buses serve regular westbound 504 King streetcar stops

  • on Broadview Avenue at Danforth Avenue, across from Wolfrey Avenue and Millbrook Crescent, across from Bain Avenue (Sunday only), across from Withrow and Langley Avenues, at the Don Jail Roadway, Gerrard Street East, Mount Stephen Street and Dundas and Queen Streets East,
  • on Queen Street East at Carroll Street,
  • on King Street East at River, Sumach and Sackville Streets, across from Trinity Street and at Parliament Street.

**Eastbound buses reverse the route.

Eastbound buses serve regular eastbound 504 King streetcar stops

  • on King Street East at Parliament, Trinity, Sackville, Sumach and St. Lawrence Streets,
  • on Queen Street East across from Carroll Street and at Broadview Avenue,
  • on Broadview Avenue north of Queen Street East, at Dundas Street East, across from Mount Stephen Street, at Gerrard Street East, north of Simpson Avenue (Sunday only), at Langley and Withrow Avenues, Bain Avenue (Sunday only), Millbrook Crescent and Wolfrey and Danforth Avenues.

They also serve Broadview Station terminal.

301 Queen overnight
501 Queen

From 7 a.m. on Saturday, April 9 until 4:30 a.m. on Monday, April 11, westbound streetcars operate along their regular route to Queen Street East and Coxwell Avenue, then detour:

northward along Coxwell;
westward along Gerrard Street East;
southward along Broadview Avenue;
westward along Dundas Street West; and then
southward along Parliament Street to Queen East,
resuming their regular route westward along Queen.

Westbound cars skip their regular stops

  • on Queen Street East at Kent Road, across from Connaught Avenue, at Greenwood and Alton Avenues, Leslie Street, Jones Avenue, Brooklyn, Pape, Carlaw and Logan Avenues, across from Empire Avenue, at Boulton Street, Broadview Avenue, Carroll, River, Sumach, Sackville and Parliament Streets.

Instead, westbound cars drop off and pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Coxwell Avenue at Dundas Street East and Robbins Avenue,
  • on Gerrard Street East at Rhodes Avenue (Sunday only), Ashdale Avenue, Hiawatha Road (Sunday only), Highfield Road, Greenwood and Prust Avenues, Leslie Street, Jones, Marjory, Pape, Carlaw and Logan Avenues, Howland Road (Sunday only), across from DeGrassi Street and at Broadview Avenue,
  • on Broadview Avenue at Mount Stephen Street and Dundas Street East,
  • on Dundas Street East at Munro, River, Sumach, Sackville and Parliament Streets and
  • on Parliament Street at Shuter Street and Queen Street East.

  • on Queen Street East at Sackville, Sumach and River Streets, across from Carroll Street, at Broadview Avenue, west of Saulter Street, at Empire Avenue, across from Booth Avenue (Sunday only), at Logan, Carlaw, Pape and Caroline Avenues, across from Jones Avenue, at Leslie and Laing Streets, across from Greenwood Avenue, Connaught, Woodward and Coxwell Avenues.

Instead eastbound cars drop off and pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Parliament Street at Shuter Street and Dundas Street East,
  • on Dundas Street East at Sackville, Sumach, River and Munro Streets and Dundas Street East,
  • on Broadview Avenue across from Mount Stephen Street and at Gerrard Street East,
  • on Gerrard Street East at DeGrassi Street, across from Howland Road (Sunday only), at Logan, Carlaw, Pape, Marjory and Jones Avenues, Leslie Street, Alton and Greenwood Avenues, Woodfield Road, Hiawatha Road (Sunday only), Ashdale Avenue, Rhodes Avenue (Sunday only) and Coxwell Avenue and
  • on Coxwell Avenue across from Robbins Avenue and at Dundas and Queen Streets East.

Shuttle buses replace the streetcars between Neville Park Loop and Sherbourne Street.

From about 2 until 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 10 and Monday, April 11, westbound buses start their trips in Neville Park Loop, then proceed:

westward along Queen Street East to Sherbourne Street,
ending their trips.

Westbound buses serve regular westbound 301 / 501 Queen streetcar stops:

  • in Neville Park Loop
  • on Queen Street East at Neville Park Boulevard, Silver Birch Avenue, Spruce Hill Road, Glen Manor Drive, Wineva and Lee Avenues, Waverly Road, Elmer and Woodbine Avenues, Lockwood and Kingston Roads, Coxwell Avenue, Kent Road, across from Connaught Avenue, at Greenwood and Alton Avenues, Leslie Street, Jones Avenue, Brooklyn, Pape, Carlaw and Logan Avenues, across from Empire Avenue, at Boulton Street, Broadview Avenue, Carroll, River, Sumach, Sackville, Parliament, Ontario and Sherbourne Streets.

Eastbound buses reverse the route.
