TTC continues to repair tracks on Queens Quay West,
April 18 to 21



The TTC is continuing its project to repair the streetcar tracks on Queens Quay West, between Lower Spadina Avenue and the tunnel under Bay Street, next week. It will operate regular service Saturday, April 16 and Sunday, April 17, since more people travel to the waterfront on weekends.

From 5 a.m. on Monday, April 18 until 5 a.m. on Thursday, April 21, the TTC is again detouring streetcars operating along the 509 Harbourfront and 510 Spadina route while the work proceeds. Shuttle buses replace the cars between Bathurst Street and Union Station.

The TTC has been repairing the tracks on Queens Quay since Saturday, April 2.


509 Harbourfront

From 5 a.m. Monday, April 18 until 5 a.m. Thursday, April 21, streetcars operate between Exhibition Loop and Spadina / Queens Quay loop only.

Eastbound cars skip their regular stops

  • on Queens Quay West east of Rees, Lower Simcoe and York Streets and
  • at Queens Quay and Union Stations.

Shuttle buses drop off and pick up passengers at temporary stops along Queens Quay West between Lower Spadina Avenue and Bay Street and Bay Street between Queens Quay West and Front Street West.

Westbound cars skip their regular stops

  • at Union and Queens Quay Stations and
  • on Queens Quay West west of York, Lower Simcoe and Rees Street and at Lower Spadina Avenue.

Shuttle buses drop off and pick up passengers at temporary stops on Bay Street between Front Street West and Queens Quay West and on Queens Quay West between Bay Street and Lower Spadina Avenue.

510 Spadina

From 5 a.m. Monday, April 18 until 5 a.m. Thursday, April 21, streetcars operate between Spadina Station and Spadina / Queens Quay loop only.

Southbound cars skip their regular stops

  • on Queens Quay West east of Rees, Lower Simcoe and York Streets and
  • at Queens Quay and Union Stations.

Shuttle buses drop off and pick up passengers at temporary stops along Queens Quay West between Lower Spadina Avenue and Bay Street and Bay Street between Queens Quay West and Front Street West.

Northbound cars skip their regular stops

  • at Union and Queens Quay Stations and
  • on Queens Quay West west of York, Lower Simcoe and Rees Street and at Lower Spadina Avenue.

Shuttle buses drop off and pick up passengers at temporary stops on Bay Street between Front Street West and Queens Quay West and on Queens Quay West between Bay Street and Lower Spadina Avenue.

509 / 510 Harbourfront / Spadina shuttle bus

From 5 a.m. Monday, April 18 until 5 a.m. Thursday, April 21, eastbound buses start their trips at Bathurst Street and Queens Quay West, then proceed:

eastward along Queens Quay West; and then
northward along Bay Street to Front Street West,
ending their trips.

You’ll need to pick up a paper transfer when you pay your fare to connect with the 1 **Yonge - University - Spadina subway at Union Station (Bay Street at Front Street West.)

The buses drop off and pick up passengers from temporary stops on Queens Quay West and Bay Street.

Although the TTC has not announced how the buses loop, they’ll likely operate from Bay and Front West:

eastward along Front West,
northward along Yonge Street; and then
southward along Bay.

Westbound buses start their trips on Bay Street, just south of Front Street West, then proceed:

southward along Bay; and then
westward along Queens Quay West to Bathurst Street,
ending their trips.

The buses drop off and pick up passengers from temporary stops on Bay Street and Queens Quay West.
