City councillors host public meeting to update community
about plans for Eglinton - Crosstown LRT, April 26

Toronto Councillors Josh Colle, Josh Matlow, Joe Mihevc, John Parker, Jaye Robinson and the chair of the Toronto Transit Commission, Councillor Karen Stintz are hosting a public meeting about plans for the Eglinton - Crosstown - Scarborough light rail transit line on Tuesday, April 26.

TTC and Metrolinx staff will update you on their plans to build the rapid underground transit line beneath Eglinton Avenue from Black Creek to the Scarborough Centre. (The new line will also replace the current Scarborough RT.)

A moderator will conduct a question-and-answer session after the staff presentations, so you can ask them to explain more about the project and how it will affect you.

The meeting takes place from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at in the auditorium of St. Clement’s School, Auditorium, 21 St. Clements Avenue (north of Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue.)

Getting there by transit:

1 Yonge - University - Spadina subway to Davisville or Eglinton Stations, transfer to northbound 97 Yonge bus.

Get off the bus at Sherwood Avenue, three stops north of Eglinton Avenue, cross Yonge Street at the signal, walk one block south and one block west.

If you leave the subway at Davisville Station, you can wait for the bus inside the bus terminal and you won’t need to get a transfer where you pay your fare.

If you leave the subway at Eglinton Station, you’ll have to wait for the bus on Yonge Street at the southeast corner of Eglinton Avenue East. You’ll need to pick up a transfer where you pay your fare.

Alternative: Subway to Lawrence Station, wait for the bus inside the door of the subway entrance on Yonge Street. (You’ll still need a transfer.) Ride a southbound 97 Yonge bus to Briar Hill Avenue, walk one block south and one block west.

Buses operate along the 97 Yonge route every 15 minutes Monday-to-Friday evenings.
