GO, Metrolinx expand Bloor Street rail bridge,
TTC detours buses, April 30, May 1 and 2



The Bloor Street West railway bridge carries five tracks. This weekend, as part of the ongoing project to expand the Georgetown South rail corridor and build the Air Rail Link, Metrolinx and GO Transit contractors are installing a new bridge span between the GO tracks and the West Toronto Rail Path bridge to support one more track. The work involves modifying the concrete abutments and installing new steel beam spans.

The City of Toronto is closing

  • Bloor Street West between Dundas Street West and Perth Avenue

from 5 a.m. Saturday, April 30 until 5 a.m. Monday, May 2 to accommodate the work.

The TTC is detouring buses operating along the 168 Symington and 300 Bloor - Danforth overnight routes while Bloor Street West is closed.


300 Bloor - Danforth overnight

From 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 30 until 5:30 a.m. on Monday, May 2, eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Bloor Street West and Dundas Street West, then detour:

south- and southeastward along Dundas West;
eastward along College Street; and then
northward along Lansdowne Avenue to Bloor West,
resuming their regular route eastward along Bloor.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Bloor Street West at Sterling Road and Lansdowne Avenue.

Instead, eastbound buses drop off and pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Dundas Street West east of Roncesvalles Avenue, at Howard Park and Sorauren Avenues, across from Sterling Road and St. Helens Avenue,
  • on College Street at Lansdowne Avenue and
  • on Lansdowne Avenue at Bloor Street West.

Westbound buses reverse the detour route.

Westbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Bloor Street West at the Rankin Apartments, Symington Avenue and Bloor Street West.

Instead, westbound buses drop off and pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Lansdowne Avenue at College Street and
  • on Dundas Street West at Sterling Road, across from Sorauren Avenue, west of Morrow Avenue and across from Roncesvalles Avenue.

From 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 30 until 5:30 a.m. on Monday, May 2, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Symington Avenue and Bloor Street West, then detour:

eastward along Bloor West;
southward along Lansdowne Avenue;
westward along College Street; and then
northwest- and northward along Dundas Street West to Bloor,
resuming their regular route northward along Dundas West.

Southbound buses skip their regular stop

  • on Bloor Street West at Dundas Street West.

Instead, southbound buses drop off and pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Bloor Street West at Lansdowne Avenue,
  • on Lansdowne Avenue at #422 Lansdowne, Whytock Avenue and College Street and
  • on Dundas Street West at Sterling Road, across from Sorauren Avenue, west of Morrow Avenue, across from Roncesvalles Avenue and at Dundas Street West.

Northbound buses reverse the detour routing.

Northbound buses serve all regular stops.

They also drop off and pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Dundas Street West east of Roncesvalles Avenue, at Howard Park and Sorauren Avenues, across from Sterling Road and St. Helens Avenue,
  • on College Street at Lansdowne Avenue and
  • on Lansdowne Avenue across from Whytock Avenue and at #533 Lansdowne.
