Buses replace GO trains west of Appleby tonight

Update — Thursday, May 5, 5:09 p.m.: GO postponed the work until early Saturday, May 7.

GO Transit contractors working on the project to build a pedestrian bridge at Burlington GO Station have reached the point where they must now lift the bridge deck into place. The work takes place between 1 and 4 a.m. tomorrow, Saturday, April 30.

As a result this evening, Friday, April 29, GO is closing the tracks at Burlington GO Station to train traffic. The last two trains operating along the 01 Lakeshore West line, leaving Union Station at 11:43 p.m. tonight and 12:43 a.m. tomorrow are ending their trips at Appleby GO Station tonight.

Buses will carry passengers further west to Burlington and Aldershot GO Stations.
