TTC detours buses in Newtonbrook area, May 4 to June 4



The City of Toronto is closing:

  • Cactus Avenue between Green Bush Road and Moore Park Avenue from Wednesday, May 4 until Wednesday, May 18 and
  • Peckham Avenue between Greenwin Village Drive and Moore Park Avenue from Tuesday, May 24 until Saturday, June 4.

to resume its project to repair the water mains.

The TTC is detouring buses operating along the 98 Willowdale - Senlac route, while the road is closed.

From Wednesday, May 4 until Wednesday, May 18, southbound buses operate along their regular route.

Northbound buses operate along their regular route to Cactus and Moore Park Avenues, then detour:

eastward along Moore Park;
northward along Hilda Avenue; and then
westward along Green Bush Road to Cactus Avenue,
ending their trips.

Northbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Cactus Avenue beside #111 Cactus and at Green Bush Road.

From Tuesday, May 24 until Saturday, June 4, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Peckham Avenue and Greenwin Village Drive, then detour:

westward along Greenwin Village;
southward along Chelmsford Avenue; and then
eastward along Moore Park Avenue to Peckham Avenue,
resuming their regular route southward along Peckham.

Southbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Peckham Avenue south of Donnalyn Drive.

Northbound buses operate along their regular route.


The TTC previously detoured buses off Cactus Avenue while City contractors upgraded the watermains from Monday, March 1 until August, 2010. It detoured buses off Peckham Avenue for the same reason from Wednesday, October 13 until Saturday, November 13, 2010.
