GO, Peterborough Transit detour buses for construction,
May 2 until June 30



The City of Peterborough is closing

  • Water Street between Langton Street and Marina Boulevard

during a project to rebuild the roadway. Construction starts Monday, May 2 and continues for about six weeks.

GO Transit is detouring buses operating along the 88 Peterborough - Oshawa route and Peterborough Transit is detouring buses operating along the 1 George North route while the street is closed.

From Monday, May 2 until Thursday, June 30, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Marina Boulevard and Oriole Drive, then detour:

south- and westward along Oriole; and then
southward along Hilliard Street to Langton Street,
resuming their regular route southward along Hilliard.

Northbound buses reverse the detour.

Buses serve all regular stops.

From Monday, May 2 until Thursday, June 30, inbound buses operate along their regular route to Marina Boulevard and Oriole Drive, then detour:

south- and westward along Oriole; and then
southward along Hilliard Street to Langton Street,
resuming their regular route southward along Hilliard.

Inbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Marina Boulevard across from Royal Drive and at Water Street,
  • on Water Street south of Marina Boulevard and
  • on Langton Street west of Water Street, east of Hilliard Street and at Hilliard Street.

Instead, inbound buses drop off and pick up passengers at a temporary stop

  • on Hilliard Street north of Langton Street.

Outbound buses reverse the detour.

Outbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Langton Street south of Hilliard Street, north of Water Street and at Water Street,
  • on Water Street at Marina Boulevard and
  • on Marina Boulevard at Royal Drive, across from Oriole Drive and at Hilliard Street.
