Pape buses return to Pape Station, May 8

Starting this Sunday, May 8, TTC buses operating along the 72 Pape route return to their namesake subway station for the first time in a long, long time.

The TTC has been detouring the buses to and from Donlands Station, while contractors worked on rebuilding the roadways inside the Pape Station bus terminal. The work was part of the ongoing project to modernize and upgrade the station.

The detours lasted exactly one year, starting on Sunday, May 9, 2010.

The TTC plans, eventually, to modernize most of the stations along the 2 Bloor - Danforth subway line.

Pape is the first station in the program and work started in fall, 2009. The TTC moved the stop for 72 Pape buses from the south to the north side of the bus terminal at Pape Station on Monday, September 28, 2009.
