Peterborough Transit revises Trent express route,
starting May 30

Due to the large number of buses operating along Simcoe Street west of the Downtown Peterborough Terminal, Peterborough Transit is revising the route of its Trent West Bank express service, starting Wednesday, May 30.

The new route eliminates the need for drivers to make a three-point turn when arriving at the Downtown Terminal, before setting out on the return trip to Trent University.

Trent West Bank express

Starting Wednesday, May 30, inbound buses operate along their regular route to Reid Street North and McDonnel Street, then proceed:

eastward along McDonnel;
southward along George Street South; and then
westward along Simoce Street to the Downtown Terminal,
ending their trips.

Inbound buses no longer serve their current stops

  • on Reid Street North south of McDonnel Street and - on Simcoe Street east of Reid Street North.

Instead, buses drop off and pick up passengers at new stops

  • on McDonnel Street east of Reid Street North and
  • on George Street North at Brock Street. (Buses operating along the Trent East Bank express route also serve this stop.)

Outbound buses continue to operate along their current route.

Inbound buses operate toward downtown.

Outbound buses operate away from downtown.
