GO starts building new parking structure
at Oakville GO Station

Today, Saturday, May 28, GO Transit contractors start work to build a new multilevel parking structure at Oakville GO Station.

This six-level structure with 1,200 new parking spots will include elevators, a pedestrian tunnel to the station platforms and a covered “Kiss ‘n’ Ride” facility, where drivers can drop off and pick up commuters.

Until contractors finish the job at the end of 2012, GO is closing the east half of the south parking lot and south-side access to the east tunnel. Passengers needing an elevator can gain access to the east tunnel from the north side of the station.

While the project continues, GO will provide temporary parking on the east side of Trafalgar Road and on the south side of Davis Road. Passengers parking in these temporary locations should use the walkway on the south-west side of Cross Avenue and Trafalgar Road when walking to and from the station.
