Even less parking at Markham GO Station, starting June 6

Update — Wednesday, August 4, 3:11 p.m.: GO reopened the parking lot today.

Update — Thursday, June 9, 5:33 p.m.: GO is opening a temporary parking lot at 16 Water Street on Monday, June 13 for commuters to use during the construction period.

Tomorrow, Monday, June 6, GO Transit starts the second phase of the project to upgrade parking at Markham GO Station, which started early in May. For most people that means even less parking at the station.

Although GO is opening 68 new parking spaces, most of them are reserved spots. It’s closing all other sections of the east and west parking lots tomorrow. It will reopen 21 spots in the north-east lot on Tuesday, June 21 and reopen all other sections on Wednesday, August 3.

GO recommends that commuters who usually drive to Markham GO station use the lots at Unionville Station during the construction.
