Weekend GO train service to Niagara Falls resumes today



GO Transit’s summer weekend train service between Niagara Falls and Toronto resumes today, Friday, June 24.

Passengers can ride the train Friday evenings, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays until Labour Day, Monday, September 5.

Trains drop off and pick up passengers at Union Station, Exhibition, Port Credit, Oakville and Burlington GO Stations and St. Catharines and Niagara Falls VIA Rail Stations.

Friday evenings until September 2, trains leave Union Station at 6:20 p.m. and arrive in Niagara Falls at 8:24 p.m. The trains leave Niagara Falls at 8:40 p.m. and return to Union at 10:44 p.m.

Saturdays, Sundays and holidays until September 6, trains leave Union Station at 9 a.m. and 4:15 and 8:10 p.m. and arrive in Niagara Falls at 11:04 a.m. and 7:19 and 10:14 p.m. The trains leave Niagara Falls at 11:30 a.m. and 7:20 and 10:30 p.m. and return to Union at 1:34 and 9:24 p.m. and 12:34 a.m.

Since many passengers travel to the Niagara area to enjoy cycling, the train operating this excursion service include two bike for passengers’ bicycles Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. These rail cars are sixth and seventh from the locomotive and hold 18 bikes on the lower level. Bring a lock to secure your bike while you ride enjoy on the upper level of the coaches.

The special bike coaches are not available Friday evening service. However, all regular coaches can also hold two bikes each, but passengers should make sure that they keep doorways clear of bicycles in case of an emergency. Also, you can’t take your bikes on the wheelchair-accessible car because of space limitations.

GO continues to operate buses along between the Niagara Falls VIA Rail Station and Burlington GO Station seven days a week.
