MiWay revises routes and services, July 4



Update — July 24, 6:50 p.m.: Buses to and from public high schools continue to operate until Friday, August 5 for the summer session. Buses to and from separate high schools still end service on Friday, July 29.


MiWay is revising its routes and services, starting today, Monday, July 4.

It’s increasing the frequency of service along several routes Saturdays, canceling most extra service to and from high schools but resuming extra high school service for passengers attending summer classes.

Specifically, MiWay is: introducing a new route; increasing service along current routes; decreasing service along current routes; increasing the frequency of service along current routes; decreasing the frequency of service along current routes; revising current routes; revising service to and from colleges and universities; canceling regular extra service to and from high schools; resuming extra service to and from high schools for summer classes; adjusting the schedules of current routes; and making other changes to current routes.


Introducing a new route


91 Hillcrest

MiWay increases the frequency of service along the northern part of the 61 Mavis route Saturdays Sundays and holidays. Buses operate along the 61 Mavis route north of the City Centre Terminal only weekends. South of the City Centre, MiWay operates buses along the new 91 Hillcrest route Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. By splitting the route into two, MiWay operates less frequent service south of the City Centre Saturdays and more frequent service Sundays and holidays.

Southbound buses start their trips in the City Centre Terminal, then proceed:

westward along Rathburn Road West;
southward along Duke of York Boulevard;
westward along Webb Drive;
southward along Grand Park Drive;
westward along Central Parkway West;
southward along Mavis Road;
eastward along Hillcrest Avenue;
southward along Clayhill Road; and then
westward along Dundas Street West to Mavis Road,
ending their trips.

Southbound buses drop off and pick up passengers at these stops:

  • in the City Centre Terminal,
  • on Duke of York Boulevard south of Rathburn Road West, at Princess Royal, City Centre and Webb Drives,
  • on Webb Drive west of Duke of York Boulevard and Confederation Parkway and across from Redmond Road
  • on Grand Park Drive south of Webb Drive and at Central Parkway West,
  • on Mavis Road south of Central Parkway West and across from Hillcrest Avenue,
  • on Hillcrest Avenue west of Mavis Road and at Elmcreek and Clayhill Roads
  • on Clayhill Road north of Dundas Street West and
  • on Dundas Street West at Elmbank and Mavis Roads.

Northbound start their trips at Dundas Street West and Mavis Road, then proceed:

northward along Mavis;
eastward along Central Parkway West;
northward along Grand Park Drive;
eastward along Webb Drive;
northward along Duke of York Boulevard;
eastward along Rathburn Road West; and then
southward into the City Centre Terminal,
ending their trips.

Northbound buses drop off and pick up passengers at these stops

  • on Dundas Street West at Mavis Road,
  • on Mavis Road at Hillcrest Avenue, north of Hillcrest Avenue (2 stops) and at Central Parkway West,
  • on Grand Park Drive north of Central Parkway West and at Webb Drive,
  • on Webb Drive at Redmond Road and Confederation Parkway and east of Confederation Parkway,
  • on Duke of York Boulevard north of Webb Drive, at City Centre Drive, across from Princess Royal Drive and at Square One Drive and Rathburn Road West and
  • in the City Centre Terminal.

Buses drop off and pick up passengers from each stop along the route every 40 minutes Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.


Increasing service along current routes

1 / 1C Dundas

Starting Saturday, July 9, MiWay operates buses along the 1C Dundas - Collegeway branch after 10 p.m. Saturdays.

It’s also increasing the frequency of service along both branches of the route and decreasing the frequency of service along the main 1 branch of the route.

101 Dundas express

Starting Monday, July 4, MiWay operates buses along two new westbound trips. One bus leaves Islington Station at 6:06 p.m. Mondays to Fridays and ends its trip on Laird Road west of Ridgeway Drive at 6:56 p.m. A second bus leaves Islington at 7:30 p.m. and ends its trip on the University of Toronto’s Mississauga Campus at 8:05 p.m.

MiWay is also decreasing service along the route.

88 Wonderland

Starting Monday, June 27, buses started operating along the route seven days a week. MiWay uses blue miExpress buses to provide service along the route.


Decreasing service along current routes


101 Dundas express

Thursday, June 30 was the last day that MiWay operated the eastbound buses that started their trips on Dundas Street West and Mavis Road at 2:43 and 3:21 p.m. Mondays to Fridays.

MiWay is also increasing service along the route.

110 University express

Starting Saturday, July 9, MiWay decreases service along the route late Saturday evenings. The last southbound bus leaves the City Centre Terminal at 9:39 p.m. Saturdays. The last northbound bus leaves Clarkson GO Station at 9:28 p.m.


Increasing the frequency of service along current routes


1 / 1C Dundas

Starting Saturday, July 9, MiWay increases the frequency of service along common parts of the route - east of Dundas Street West and Mississauga Road, where buses serving both the 1 and 1C branches operate -after 10 p.m. Saturdays.

Buses drop off and pick up passengers from each stop along the common part of the route every 22 to 23 minutes, instead of every 28 minutes.

MiWay is also increasing the hours of service along the 1C branch and decreasing the frequency of service along the main 1 branch of the route.

23 Lakeshore

MiWay increases the frequency of service along the route seven days a week.

Starting Monday, July 4, buses drop off and pick up passengers at each stop along the route every 14 to 15 minutes, instead of every 19 minutes Mondays to Fridays during rush hours.

Starting Saturday, July 9, buses serve each stop every 19 minutes, instead of every 26 minutes from about 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

61 Mavis

MiWay increases the frequency of service along the northern part of the route Saturdays Sundays and holidays. Buses operate along the 61 Mavis route north of the City Centre Terminal only weekends. South of the City Centre, MiWay operates buses along the new 91 Hillcrest route Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. By splitting the route into two, MiWay operates less frequent service south of the City Centre Saturdays and more frequent service Sundays and holidays.

Starting Saturday, July 9, buses drop off and pick up passengers at each stop north of the City Centre Terminal every 24 minutes, instead of every 33 minutes Saturdays.

Starting Sunday, July 10, buses serve each stop north of the City Centre every 36 minutes, instead of every 50 minutes, Sundays and holidays. Buses (operating along the 91 Hillcrest route) serve each stop south of the City Centre every 40 minutes, instead of every 50 minutes, Sundays and holidays.

MiWay is also making another change to the route.

68 Windsor Hill loop

Starting Saturday, July 9, MiWay increases the frequency of service along the route Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Buses drop off and pick up passengers every 40 minutes, instead of every 45 minutes.

Decreasing the frequency of service along current routes


1 / 1C Dundas

Starting Saturday, July 9, MiWay decreases the frequency of service along the main 1 branch of route Saturdays after 10 p.m.

Buses drop off and pick up passengers every 44½ minutes, instead of every 28 minutes.

MiWay is also increasing the hours of service along the 1C branch and increasing the frequency of service along the common parts of the route.

22 Finch

Since fewer passengers are traveling to and from Humber College’s North Campus during the summer, MiWay is decreasing the frequency of service along the route.

Starting Monday, July 4, buses drop off and pick up passengers at each stop along the route every 18 minutes, instead of every 13 minutes Mondays to Fridays during rush hours. The buses serve each stop every 18 minutes all day Mondays to Fridays.

61 Mavis

MiWay increases the frequency of service along the northern part of the route Saturdays Sundays and holidays. Buses operate along the 61 Mavis route north of the City Centre Terminal only weekends. South of the City Centre, MiWay operates buses along the new 91 Hillcrest route Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. By splitting the route into two, MiWay operates less frequent service south of the City Centre Saturdays and more frequent service south of the City Centre Sundays and holidays.

Starting Saturday, July 9, buses (operating along the 91 Hillcrest route) serve each stop south of the City Centre every 36 minutes, instead of every 33 minutes, Saturdays.

MiWay is also making another change to the route.


Revising current routes


107 Airport express

Starting Monday, July 4, MiWay revises the route to avoid delays resulting from upcoming construction for the Mississauga Busway project.

Eastbound buses operate along their former route to Rathburn Road and Hurontario Street, then proceed:

eastward along Rathburn Road East; and then
northward along Tomken Road to Eastgate Parkway,
resuming their route eastward along Eastgate.

Westbound buses reverse the routing.

38 / 38A Creditview

Starting Saturday, July 9, all buses operate along the 38A Creditview - Argentia * branch, instead of the main 38 *Creditview branch Saturdays. Buses bypass the Meadowpine Industrial area, operating along Argentia Road, between Derry Road West and Winston Churchill Boulevard.

Southbound buses skip these stops Saturdays:

  • on Meadowpine Boulevard east of Winston Churchill Boulevard, across from Howe Court and Danbro Crescent (west and east) and at Meadowvale Boulevard,
  • on Meadowvale Boulevard across from Rapistan Court and west of Syntex Drive,
  • on Syntex Drive south of Meadowvale Boulevard and at Derry Road West and
  • on Derry Road West west of Syntex Drive.

Instead, southbound buses drop off and pick up passengers at these stops Saturdays:

  • on Argentia Road east of Winston Churchill Boulevard (3 stops).

Northbound buses skip these stops Saturdays:

  • on Syntex Drive north of Derry Road West and at Meadowvale Boulevard,
  • on Meadowvale Boulevard west of Syntex Drive (2 stops), at Rapistan Court and Meadowpine Boulevard and
  • on Meadowpine Boulevard west of Meadowvale Boulevard, at Danbro Crescent (east), Howe Court and Winston Churchill Boulevard.

Instead, northbound buses drop off and pick up passengers at these stops Saturdays:

  • on Argentia Road east of Winston Churchill Boulevard (3 stops).
61 Mavis

Starting Saturday, July 9, MiWay splits the route into two Saturdays Sundays and holidays. Buses operate along the 61 Mavis route north of the City Centre Terminal only weekends. South of the City Centre, MiWay operates buses along the new 91 Hillcrest route Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

109 Meadowvale express

Starting Monday, July 4, MiWay revises the route to avoid delays resulting from upcoming construction for the Mississauga Busway project and to offer passengers frequent express service between Meadowvale and the City Centre area.

Buses no longer operate along Highway 403 east of Mavis Road.

Southbound buses operate along their former route to Highway 403 and Mavis Road, then proceed:

eastward along Centre View Drive;
southward along Duke of York Boulevard;
eastward along Rathburn Roads West and East; and then
northward along Tomken Road to Eastgate Parkway,
resuming their route eastward along Eastgate.

Southbound buses skip their stop

  • on Eastgate Parkway at Tomken Road.

Instead, southbound buses drop off and pick up passengers at new stops

  • on Rathburn Road West at the City Centre Terminal and
  • on Tomken Road at Eastgate Parkway.

Northbound buses operate along their former route to Eastgate Parkway and Tomken Road, then proceed:

southward along Tomken;
westward along Rathburn Roads East and West; and then
northward along Mavis Road to Highway 403,
resuming their route westward along Highway 403.

Northbound buses skip their stop

  • on Eastgate Parkway at Tomken Road.

Instead, northbound buses drop off and pick up passengers at new stops

  • on Tomken Road and Willowbank Trail and
  • on Rathburn Road West at Station Gate Road (across from the City Centre Terminal).

Revising service to and from universities and colleges


22 Finch

Since fewer passengers are traveling to and from Humber College’s North Campus during the summer, MiWay is decreasing the frequency of service along the route.

Starting Monday, July 4, buses drop off and pick up passengers at each stop along the route every 18 minutes, instead of every 13 minutes Mondays to Fridays during rush hours. The buses serve each stop every 18 minutes all day Mondays to Fridays.

110 University express

Starting Saturday, July 9, MiWay decreases service along the route late Saturday evenings. The last southbound bus leaves the City Centre Terminal at 9:39 p.m. Saturdays. The last northbound bus leaves Clarkson GO Station at 9:28 p.m.

westward along Elm Drives East and West;
northward along Kariya Drive and Kariya Gate;

Starting Monday, July 4 until Friday, July 29, a southbound bus leaves St. Marcellinus Catholic Secondary School at 1:40 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. The bus proceeds:

eastward along Courtneypark Drive West;
southward along McLaughlin Road and Confederation Parkway; and then
eastward along Rathburn Road West, arriving at the City Centre Terminal at 1:56 p.m.


Adjusting the schedules of current routes


7 Airport

Starting Monday, July 4, the southbound bus that formerly left the Westwood terminal at 8:38 p.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves six minutes later at 8:44 p.m. The northbound bus that formerly left the City Centre Terminal at 9:36 p.m. leaves six minutes later at 9:42 p.m.

10 Bristol - Britannia

Starting Monday, July 4, buses operate with new Monday-to-Friday schedules. All buses leave all stops at different times than formerly.

6 Credit Woodlands

Starting Monday, July 4, the eastbound bus that formerly left Westdale Mall at 11:45 p.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves one minute earlier at 11:44 p.m.

The earlier trip improves service for passengers connecting to buses operating along the 19 Hurontario route at the City Centre Terminal.

MiWay is also making another change to the route.

5 Dixie

Starting Monday, July 4, the southbound bus that formerly left Cardiff Boulevard and Lorimar Drive at 12:37 a.m. Tuesdays to Saturdays leaves three minutes earlier at 12:34 a.m.

The earlier trip improves service for passengers transferring at Long Branch GO Station to a westbound bus operating along the 23 Lakeshore route.

13 Glen Erin

Starting Monday, July 4, buses operate with new schedules Monday-to-Friday afternoons. All afternoon buses leave Clarkson GO Station at different times than formerly.

Buses continue to drop off and pick up passengers at each stop along the route every 18 minutes Mondays to Fridays during rush hours and every 25 minutes from about 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

18 Northwest - Explorer

Starting Monday, July 4, buses operate with new Monday-to-Friday schedules.

51 Tomken

Starting Monday, July 4, the northbound bus that formerly left Middlefiled and Stanfield Roads at 11:17 p.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves one minute earlier at 11:16 p.m. The earlier bus improves service for passengers connecting with an eastbound bus operating along the 42 Derry route.

45 Winston Churchill

Starting Monday, July 4, buses operate with new schedules seven days a week.

Starting Saturday, July 9, buses drop off and pick up passengers at each stop along the route every hour. (Formerly, some buses leave at more or less than an hour after last bus.)
