TTC resumes subway service between Eglinton and Bloor
after emergency track repairs this afternoon

The TTC canceled service along its 1 Yonge - University - Spadina line between Eglinton and Bloor - Yonge Stations for about two hours this afternoon.

Trains couldn’t operate between the two stations because a track broke at Davisville Station.

The TTC operated shuttle buses along Yonge Street until it finished repairing the tracks around 2 p.m. today. According to CBC Toronto News, the TTC needs 17 buses to shuttle passengers from one subway train, with buses operating every five minutes.

CTV Toronto News reported that “crowds of dejected commuters gathered on street corners Thursday afternoon, many waiting for longer periods of time before they could get onto a shuttle bus. Many others chose to walk, creating an impromptu parade along Yonge Street sidewalks.”
