Cars take centre stage at two events this weekend: vintage and classic car shows in Brampton and Milton.

These and other special events in Brampton, the Downsview area of Toronto, the Georgetown area of Halton Hills, Guelph, Hamilton and central Toronto all affect transit services this weekend.

Brampton events are: Classic Cars and Legendary Stars (July 15, 16, 17); Downtown Brampton Farmer’s Market (July 17).


Classic Cars and Legendary Stars

The Brampton Downtown Development Corporation and the City of Brampton are hosting this series of classic-car events, taking place in Gage Park and along Wellington Street West this Thursday and Friday evenings. On Saturday afternoon, the classic cars parade from the Brampton GO Station before posing on display along Main and Queen Streets at the Four Corners in Downtown Brampton.

This Thursday and Friday evenings, the City is closing

  • Wellington Street West between George and Main Streets South.

This Saturday afternoon, it is closing

  • George Streets North and South between Railroad Street and Wellington Street West,
  • Main Streets North and South between Nelson Street West / Theatre Lane and Wellington Street

The City of Toronto is closing

The City of Guelph is closing

  • Quebec Street between Baker Street and Wyndham Street North (St. George’s Square)

on Saturday to accommodate the Downtown Guelph Business Association’s annual art show.

Guelph Transit is detouring all buses serving downtown Guelph during the event to temporary stops on St. George’s Square (Wyndham Street North at Quebec Street). You can see a map of the temporary stops here.

On Saturday, July 16, you can ride any HSR bus for free to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats game against the Saskatchewan Rough Riders at 7 p.m. — if you hold a valid ticket to the game. With the HSR’s Ticket to Ride program, you can ride free of fare to Ivor Wynne Stadium for as much as three hours before game time and free of fare from the stadium after the game until the end of service.

Tiger-Cats Express shuttles

Westbound buses operate along their regular routes to Main and Ontario Streets, then end their trips at the regular GO bus stop on the north side of Main Street East, east of Ontario Street North. The buses arrive at Main and Ontario about 3 minutes before they usually arrive at the stop on Martin Street north of Main Street East.
