At last!
You can use PRESTO cards at Brampton GO Station

You can now use PRESTO fare cards at Brampton GO Station — starting Wednesday, July 13, Brampton became a PRESTO “agency”.

At a PRESTO agency, you can

  • buy a PRESTO card,
  • “load” value onto your card,
  • check your balance and
  • make various other transactions.

Brampton is the last GO station to receive PRESTO card readers and other PRESTO equipment. You can now use PRESTO cards at all train stations in the GO system.

At Brampton GO Station, you can use your PRESTO card to pay fares on all GO Transit trains and all Brampton Transit buses serving the station. You can’t use the card to pay your fare on GO buses.

Until Wednesday, September 21, you can visit any GO station to trade your 10-ride ticket or monthly pass for a free PRESTO card. Present your ticket or pass to the station attendant and the attendant will transfer any balance to a PRESTO card and waive the usual the $6 fee to issue the card.

Read Transit Toronto’s June 4, 2010 post for more information about using PRESTO cards on GO trains.
