Vintage TTC streetcars operate along Roncesvalles,
free of fare, July 23

This Saturday, July 23 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., you can ride the TTC’s vintage Presidents Conference Committee (PCC) streetcars along Roncesvalles Avenue — free of fare.

The free rides help merchants and residents along the street celebrate the long construction project that’s disrupted their street for two years — and the upcoming return of regular streetcar service along the 504 King route next Sunday, July 31.

The Roncesvalles Village Business Improvement Area’s grand opening event features an historical display, a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the return of streetcars to Roncesvalles after a long absence, live music, a sidewalk sale and other events.

The ceremony commemorating the return of streetcars takes place just after 10 a.m. at the High Park Library, 228 Roncesvalles Avenue at Wright Avenue.

Buses continue to operate along Dundas Street West and Roncesvalles Avenue between Dundas West Station and The Queensway / Queen Street West. If you board a bus Saturday, you’ll have to pay regular TTC fare. If you board a streetcar, you’ll get a free ride.
