No streetcars east of St. Clair West Station,
late evenings, weekends, starting July 31

The TTC is replacing the overhead streetcar wires along St. Clair Avenues West and East between St. Clair West and St. Clair Stations Mondays to Fridays after 10 p.m. and all day Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, starting Sunday, July 31.

Buses replace streetcars between the two subway stations. Streetcars continue to operate between Gunn’s Road Loop (west of Keele Street)and St. Clair West Station. Passengers must transfer between buses and streetcars in the terminal at St. Clair West Station to continue any trips along St. Clair Avenue in either direction beyond the station.

TTC crews are upgrading the wiring to accommodate the new streetcars, which start operating along Toronto streets in 2013. The work — and temporary bus service — continues until September 4.

At the same time that the TTC is replacing the wires, it’s also working on a project to repair concrete on the walls and base of the streetcar and bus ramps and ceiling and walls under St Clair Avenue West at St. Clair West Station.

Concrete repairs continue until late fall. Work at the east ramp may require the TTC to detour the buses that replace the streetcars over the weekend of August 6 and 7.
