Burlington Transit detours buses, evenings, August 2 to 5
during Brant / Fairview construction



The City of Burlington is closing

  • the intersection of Brant and Fairview Streets

overnight next week to repave the roadways.

The work is part of a longer-term City project to improve Fairview Street.

Burlington Transit is detouring buses operating along the 1 Fairview / Plains, 2 Brant and 10 New routes, while the intersection is closed.


2 Brant

After 7 p.m. from Tuesday, August 2 until Friday, August 5, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Brant Street and Plains Road East, then detour:

eastward along Plains East and Queensway Drive;
southward along Guelph Line;
westward along Fairview Street;
northward into Burlington GO Station bus loop;
eastward along Fairview;
southward along Drury Lane; and then
westward along Prospect Street to Brant,
resuming their regular route southward along Brant.

Southbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Brant Street south of Plains Road East,
  • eastbound on Fairview Street west of Brant Street and across from Walmart,
  • westbound on Fairview Street at Walmart and Brant Street,
  • on Brant Street south of Fairview Street and at Graham’s Lane.

Instead, southbound buses drop off and pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Queensway Drive east of Brenda Crescent, at Cleta Street and west of Guelph Line,
  • on Guelph Line south of Queensway Drive,
  • westbound on Fairview Street west of Guelph Line and across from Value Village, Drury Lane and Argon Court and
  • eastbound on Fairview Street east of Argon Court and at Drury Lane.

Northbound buses operate along their regular route.

10 New

After 7 p.m. from Tuesday, August 2 until Friday, August 5, inbound buses operate along their regular route to Fairview and Brant Streets, then detour:

southward along Brant;
eastward along Prospect Street;
northward along Drury Lane;
westward along Fairview Street; and then
northward into Burlington GO Station bus loop,
ending their trips.

Inbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Fairview Street west of Brant Street and across from Walmart.

Instead, inbound buses drop off and pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Brant Street south of Fairview Street and
  • on Fairview Street across from Argon Court.

Outbound buses operate along their regular route to Fairview and Brant Streets, then detour:

northward along Brant;
westward along Plains Road East; and then
southward along Maple Avenue to Fairview Street,
resuming their regular route southward along Maple.

Outbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Fairview Street west of Brant Street and at Maple Avenue.

Instead, outbound buses drop off and pick up passengers at a temporary stop

  • on Brant Street north of Fairview Street.
