DRT detours buses during Finch / Valley Farm construction,
starting August 2



Starting Monday, August 2, the Region of Durham and the City of Pickering closed

  • the intersection of Finch Avenue (Regional Road 37) and Valley Farm Road North

for about a month to accommodate a Region of York project to build the Southeast Connector Trunk Sewer.

Durham Region Transit is detouring buses operating along the 102 Liverpool, 121 Liverpool / Finch / Hwy 2, 181 Liverpool / Finch / Hwy 2 / Maple Ridge / Glendale and 193B Pickering community bus routes while the intersection is closed.


102 Liverpool

From Tuesday, August 2 until Saturday, September 3, buses operate along their regular route to Finch Avenue and Rosefield Road, then detour:

southward along Rosefield to Fieldlight Boulevard,
resuming their regular route westward along Fieldlight.

Buses skip their regular stops

  • on Finch Avenue at Valley Farm Road North,
  • on Valley Farm Road North across from the Village Retirement Centre and
  • on Fieldlight Boulevard across from Glenview Road and at Rosefield Road.

From Tuesday, August 2 until Saturday, September 3, buses operate along their regular route to Fieldlight Boulevard and Rosefield Road, then detour:

northward along Rosefield to Finch Avenue,
resuming their regular route westward along Finch.

Buses skip their regular stops

  • on Fieldlight Boulevard at Glenview Road and Valley Farm Road North,
  • on Valley Farm Road North beside the Village Retirement Centre and
  • on Finch Avenue west of Valley Farm Road North.

From Tuesday, August 2 until Saturday, September 3, buses operate along their regular route to Valley Farm Road North and Fieldlight Boulevard, then detour:

westward along Fieldlight to Rosefield Road,
resuming their regular route westward along Fieldlight.
