YRT distributes PRESTO cards to passengers,
August 8, 9, 10, 11, 13



Update — Thursday, August 11, 4:43 p.m.: YRT has canceled the event on Saturday, August 13, because the PRESTO website is off-line that day.


York Region Transit staff continue to distribute as many as 5,000 PRESTO fare cards to passengers this week. YRT is also waiving the usual $6 fee to issue the cards this week and staff are updating riders on how to use the smart cards and the PRESTO website and show you how to register your cards.

They’ll be distributing the cards on Monday, August 8 and Tuesday, August 9 at Newmarket GO Bus Terminal from 1 until 6:30 p.m.

During a public event on the YRT 2012 service plan on Wednesday, August 10, YRT staff are again distributing the cards at Newmarket GO bus Station from 4 until 7 p.m.

Another public event on the service plan takes place on Thursday, August 11, when YRT are also distributing the cards in Hillcrest Mall from 4 until 7 p.m.

Finally, they’ll be at the Richmond Hill Centre Terminal on Saturday, August 13 from 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m

YRT is loading the cards with $25, including the $6 issuance fee and $19 you can use to pay fares.
