Barrie Caribfest Parade

The City of Barrie is closing

  • Lakeshore Drive between Toronto Street and the entrance into the South Shore Centre.

The parade affects Barrie Transit service.

34 Ardagh

From 1 p.m. until about 3 p.m. Saturday, August 13, outbound passengers should expect detours and delays as the parade passes along Simcoe Street West between Maple Avenue and Toronto Street and along Toronto Street and Lakeshore Drive between Simcoe Street West and Centennial Park.


Bowmanville


Moonlight Madness

The Municipality of Clarington is closing

  • King Street East Bowmanville between Scugog and George Streets

on Friday evening to accommodate the Downtown Bowmanville Business Improvement Area’s annual event.

GO Transit is detouring buses during the event.

90 Newcastle - Oshawa

From 5 p.m. Friday, August 12 until 12:30 a.m. on Saturday August 13, westbound buses operate along their regular route to King Street East and Liberty Street, then detour:

southward along Liberty South;

The City of Brampton is closing

  • Main Streets North and South between Nelson and Wellington Streets

on Saturday morning and early afternoon and every Saturday until October 8 to accommodate the weekly farmers market.

Brampton Transit is detouring bus service during the market.

2 Main

From 6 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, August 13, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Main Street North and Nelson Street, then detour:

westward along Nelson Street West, passing, but not stopping at, the Downtown Transit Terminal,
southward along George Streets North and South; and then
eastward along Wellington Street West to Main South,
resuming their regular route southward along Main.

Southbound buses skip their regular stop

  • on Main Street at Queen Street.

Northbound buses reverse the detour routing.

GO Transit is detouring bus service during the weekly market.

31 Guelph / Georgetown - Union

From 6:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, August 13, eastbound buses from Guelph operate along their regular route to Main and Guelph Streets (Provincial Highway 7) and then proceed:

southeastward along Guelph to Mill Street,
resuming their regular route southwestward along Guelph.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Main Street South opposite Cross Street and at Wesleyan Street and
  • on Mill Street at Guelph Street.

Westbound buses reverse the detour routing.

Westbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Mill Street south of Guelph Street and
  • on Main Street South across from Wesleyan Street and at Cross Street.

Buses that start or end their trips at Georgetown operate to and from the Georgetown GO Station, instead of Main Street South and Wesleyan Street and do not travel to downtown Georgetown.

Hamilton


Hamilton events affecting transit services this weekend include the Augusta and Company District Block Party (August 13) and a Canadian Football League game (August 13).


Augusta and Company District Block Party

The City of Hamilton is closing:

  • Augusta Street between Hughson and James Streets South

all day Saturday and early Sunday morning

to accommodate the James South District’s annual street party.

The Hamilton Street Railway is detouring buses during the event.

6 Aberdeen

After 8 a.m. Saturday, August 13, inbound buses operate along their regular route to James Street South and Augusta Street, then detour:

southward along James;
eastward along Young Street; and then
northward along John Street South to Augusta Street,
resuming their regular route northward along John South.

Buses skip their regular stops

  • on Augusta Street east of James Street South and at John Street South.

Outbound buses operate along their regular route.


Canadian Football League game
All Hamilton Street Railway routes

On Saturday, August 13, you can ride any HSR bus for free to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats game against the Toronto Argonauts at 7 p.m. — if you hold a valid ticket to the game. With the HSR’s Ticket to Ride program, you can ride free of fare to Ivor Wynne Stadium for as much as three hours before game time and free of fare from the stadium after the game until the end of service.

Tiger-Cats Express shuttles

From about 5 until 7 p.m. Saturday, August 13, free HSR shuttle buses also speedily transport ticket-holders from four terminals across the city to the stadium — and back again after the game is over. You can read the schedule for Saturday’s shuttle service here. (.pdf)

from about 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Sunday to accommodate the event.

The TTC is detouring buses during the event.

83 Jones

Until 2 p.m. Sunday, August 14, southbound buses operate along their regular route to the Lakeshore Garage on Commissioners Street, then end their trips, without entering the loop at the garage.

Northbound buses start their trips on Commissioners Street in front of the Lakeshore Garage, then proceed:

westward along Commissioners Street;
northward along Carlaw Avenue; and then
eastward along Lake Shore Boulevard East to Leslie Street,
resuming their regular route northward along Leslie.

Northbound buses skip their regular stops

  • in the Lakeshore Garage loop,
  • at the WheelTrans exit from the garage onto Commissioners Street
  • on Commissioners Street across from the entrance to the Lakeshore Garage and at #651 Commissioners and

Until about 9:30 a.m. Sunday, August 14, south- and westbound buses operate along their regular route to Commissioners Street and Don Roadway, then detour:

northward along Don Roadway;
westward along Lake Shore Boulevard East to Cherry Street,
northward along Cherry; and then
westward along Eastern Avenue and Front Street East to Parliament Street,
resuming their regular route westward along Front East.

South- and westbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Commissioners Street at #150 Commissioners, Munition and Cherry Streets,
  • on Cherry Street at Villiers Street and Lake Shore Boulevard East and
  • on Mill Street at Trinity and Parliament Streets.

East- and northbound buses operate along their regular route to Front Street East and Parliament Street, then detour:

southward along Parliament Street;
eastward along Lake Shore Boulevard East;

From about 9:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Sunday, August 14, south- and westbound buses operate along their regular route to Cherry Beach, returning northward along Cherry Street to Commissioners Street, then detour:

eastward along Commissioners;
northward along Don Roadway;
westward along Lake Shore Boulevard East to Cherry Street,
northward along Cherry; and then
westward along Eastern Avenue and Front Street East to Parliament Street,
resuming their regular route westward along Front East.

South- and westbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Cherry Street at Villiers Street and Lake Shore Boulevard East and
  • on Mill Street at Trinity and Parliament Streets.

East- and northbound buses operate along their regular route to Front Street East and Parliament Street, then detour:

southward along Parliament Street; and then
eastward along Lake Shore Boulevard East to Cherry Street,
resuming their regular route southward along Cherry to Cherry Beach; and then
northward along Cherry Street;
eastward along Commissioners Street; then detouring:
northward along Don Roadway; and then

Bloorcourt Arts and Crafts Fair

The City of Toronto is closing

  • Bloor Street West between Dovercourt Road and Shaw Street (except for the intersection with Ossington Avenue)

all day Saturday to accommodate the Bloorcourt Business Improvement Area’s street fair.

The TTC is detouring buses during the event.

300 Bloor - Danforth overnight

Event organizers may disrupt the last east- and westbound buses along the route while they set up for the street fair early Saturday.

Around 6 a.m. Saturday, August 13, eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Bloor Street West and Dovercourt Road, then detour:

northward along Dovercourt;
eastward along Dupont Street; and then
southward along Christie Street to Bloor West,
resuming their regular route eastward along Bloor.

  • on Bloor Street West at Ossington Avenue, Shaw Street, Montrose Avenue and Grace Street.

westward along Hallam;
southward along Ossington Avenue; and then
westward into Ossington Station terminal, ending their trips.

  • on Dovercourt Road at Shanley and Northumberland Streets and
  • on Bloor Street West at Concord Avenue.

Instead, eastbound buses drop off and pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Ossington Avenue across from Pendrith Street and Leeds Avenue.

India Day Celebrations and Grand Parade

From 9:30 a.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, August 13, Panorama India is hosting events in Yonge - Dundas Square.

A parade starts from the Square at 11:15 a.m., then proceeds:

southward along Yonge Street;
westward along Queen Street West;
northward along University Avenue; and then
eastward along Dundas Streets West and East to Yonge - Dundas Square.

The event affects TTC services.

6 Bay

From about 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Saturday, August 13, expect delays as the parade passes along Queen and Dundas Streets West at Bay Street.

505 Dundas

All day Saturday, August 13, expect more passengers than usual as event-goers travel to and from Yonge - Dundas Square.

From about 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., expect delays as the parade passes along Dundas Streets West and East between University Avenue and Yonge - Dundas Square.

501 Queen

From about 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Saturday, August 13, expect delays as the parade passes along Queen Street West between Yonge Street and University Avenue.

1 Yonge - University - Spadina subway

All day Saturday, August 13, expect more passengers than usual at Dundas Station as people travel to and from the event.


York - Eglinton International Village Street Festival

The City of Toronto is closing

  • Eglinton Avenue West between Dufferin Street and Oakwood Avenue

all day Saturday and Sunday to accommodate the York - Eglinton Business Improvement Area street festival.

The TTC is detouring buses during the event.
