Less service to the falls, starting September 6



GO Transit is ending its summer excursion train service to Niagara Falls on the Labour Day long weekend.

The last regular weekend GO train between Union Station and the Niagara Falls VIA Rail Station operates Labour Day, Monday, September 5.

GO will operate the trains just one more weekend this year on the Thanksgiving long weekend — Friday, October 7, Saturday, October 8, Sunday, October 9 and Thanksgiving, Monday, October 10.

Niagara Falls Transit is also decreasing service along its three Falls shuttle routes, starting Tuesday, September 5.

Starting that day, buses operating along the Blue falls shuttle route leave Marineland at 9:15 a.m. Mondays to Thursdays and every hour until 12:15 a.m. Tuesdays to Fridays. They leave Clifton Hill at 9 a.m. Mondays to Thursdays and every hour until midnight. The buses continue to operate every 30 minutes Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, leaving Marineland from 9:15 a.m. until 1:15 a.m. and Clifton Hill from 9 a.m. until 1 a.m.

Buses operating along the Green falls shuttle route leave the Downtown Transit Terminal (across Bridge Street from the VIA Rail Canada station) at 8:45 a.m. Mondays to Thursdays and every hour until 12:45 a.m. Tuesdays to Fridays. They leave Clifton Hill at 9:30 a.m. and every hour until 1 a.m. The buses continue to operate every 30 minutes Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, leaving the Downtown Terminal from 8:45 a.m. until 12:45 a.m. and Clifton Hill from 9 a.m. until 1:30 a.m.

Buses operating along the Red falls shuttle route leave Garner Road and Lundy’s Lane at 9:30 a.m. Mondays to Thursdays and every hour until 12:30 a.m. Tuesdays to Fridays. They leave Clifton Hill at 10 a.m. and every hour until 1 a.m. The buses continue to operate every 30 minutes Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, leaving Garner Road from 9 a.m. until 1 a.m. and Clifton Hill from 9:30 a.m. until 1 a.m.

Thanksgiving, Monday, October 10 is the last day this year that Niagara Falls Transit operates buses along the three falls shuttle routes.
