Oakville Transit detours buses for Sixth Line construction,
starting August 18

Update — Friday, November 4, 2:33 p.m.: Construction is ending for the season. Buses resume regular service, starting Monday, November 6.

Since last Thursday, August 18, the Town of Oakville has closed

  • Sixth Line between Ridge Drive and Leighland Avenue

to accommodate a Region of Halton project to replace the watermains and a Town project to rebuild the roadway.

Oakville Transit is detouring buses operating along the 13 Westoak Trails route while the road is closed.

13 Westoak Trails

Starting Thursday, August 18, eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Sixth Line and Ridge Drive, then detour:

eastward along Ridge; and then
southward along Kent Avenue to Leighland Avenue,
resuming their regular route eastward along Leighland.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Leighland Avenue east of Sixth Line and at Kent Avenue.

Westbound buses reverse the detour routing.

Westbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Leighland Avenue at Sixth Line and
  • on Sixth Line at Ridge Drive.
