Port Colborne

Port Colborne City Council recently approved raising adult cash fares for transit services in the city. The cash fare for the community bus service increases from $2 to $2.50. The fare for the bus linking the Port Colborne to Welland goes up to $3.50 from $3.25. The cash fare for seniors, students and the cost of passes remains the same as currently.

The increase makes transit fares coincide with other Niagara Region municipalities. The Region of Niagara starts operating a regional, city-to-city transit service next month. Similar fares in each municipality help regional transit planners co-ordinate local and regional fares.

The City contracts Welland Transit to provide transit services in Port Colborne. Welland Transit is not raising its fares for services in Welland.
