Update — Friday, August 25, 1:43 p.m.: GO has confirmed its detours in downtown Oshawa during Autofest.


Special events in Brampton, the Georgetown area of Halton Hills, the Lindsay area of Kawartha Lakes, Oshawa, Toronto, Waterloo and the Winona area of Hamilton affect transit services this weekend.

Downtown Brampton Farmers Market

The City of Brampton is closing

  • Main Streets North and South between Nelson and Wellington Streets

on Saturday morning and early afternoon and every Saturday until October 8 to accommodate the weekly farmers market.

Brampton Transit is detouring bus service during the market.

2 Main

From 6 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, August 27, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Main Street North and Nelson Street, then detour:

westward along Nelson Street West, passing, but not stopping at, the Downtown Transit Terminal,
southward along George Streets North and South; and then
eastward along Wellington Street West to Main South,
resuming their regular route southward along Main.

Southbound buses skip their regular stop

  • on Main Street at Queen Street.

Northbound buses reverse the detour routing.

on Saturday morning and every Saturday until October 8 to accommodate the Georgetown Central Business Improvement Area’s weekly market.

GO Transit is detouring bus service during the weekly market.

31 Guelph / Georgetown - Union

From 6:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, August 27, eastbound buses from Guelph operate along their regular route to Main and Guelph Streets (Provincial Highway 7) and then proceed:

southeastward along Guelph to Mill Street,
resuming their regular route southwestward along Guelph.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Main Street South opposite Cross Street and at Wesleyan Street and
  • on Mill Street at Guelph Street.

Westbound buses reverse the detour routing.

Buses that start or end their trips at Georgetown operate to and from the Georgetown GO Station, instead of Main Street South and Wesleyan Street and do not travel to downtown Georgetown.

Saturday mornings from May 1 until October 29, the City of Kawartha Lakes is closing

From 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, August 27, inbound buses operate along their regular route to Victoria Avenue North and Peel Street, then detour:

Autofest

The City of Oshawa is closing

  • King Streets East and West between Victoria and Centre Streets and
  • Simcoe Street North and South between Bond and Athol Streets

to accommodate the annual festival kick-off party Friday evening.

The City is also closing

  • Lakeview Park Avenue

on Friday evening, all day Saturday and Sunday morning and afternoon.

Durham Region Transit and GO Transit are detouring bus service during the event.

westward along Adelaide Avenue East to Simcoe Street North,
resuming their regular route northward along Simcoe North.

Eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Centre Street and King Street East, then detour:

southward along Centre Street South;

Toronto events affecting transit services are: Canadian National Exhibition (August 19 until September 5); and Scotiabank Buskerfest (August 26, 27, 28, 29).

The “Ex” starts its 131st year on Friday, August 20 and continues until Labour Day, Monday, September 6.

GO Transit and the TTC are increasing service to handle the crowds heading to the “Ex”.

Scotiabank Buskerfest

The City of Toronto is closing

  • Front Street East between Scott and Jarvis Streets

all day on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday to accommodate the street festival.

The TTC is detouring bus services during the event.

Tthe Hamilton Street Railway is again operating shuttle buses to take you to the annual festival and back again.

Buses operate between Eastgate Terminal and Winona Park Friday evening, all day Saturday and Sunday morning and afternoon.

Westbound buses start their trips on Parkmanor Drive at the south end of Winona Park, then proceed:

westward along Parkmanor;
southward along Milliken Drive; and then
westward along Queenston Road (City Highway 8) to Eastgate Terminal,
ending their trips.

Eastbound buses start their trips at Eastgate Terminal, then proceed:

eastward along Queenston Road (City Highway 8);
northward along Maple Gate Drive; and then
westward along Parkmanor Drive to the south side of Winona Park,
ending their trips.

Westbound buses leave Winona every 12 minutes from 5:24 until 11:30 p.m. Friday, August 26, from 10:24 a.m. until 11:30 p.m. Saturday, August 27 and from 10:24 a.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday, August 29.

Eastbound buses leave Eastgate every 12 minutes from 5 until 9 p.m. Friday, from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Sunday.
