YRT distributes PRESTO cards to passengers,
August 30, 31, September 1 and 2



York Region Transit staff continue to distribute PRESTO fare cards to passengers this week. YRT is also waiving the usual $6 fee to issue the cards this week and staff are updating riders on how to use the smart cards and the PRESTO website and show you how to register your cards.

They’ll be distributing the cards today, Tuesday, August 30 in three locations:

  • Seneca College Newnham Campus orientation, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.;
  • Seneca College@York orientation, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.; and
  • Aurora GO Station, from 4 until 7 p.m.

They’ll be distributing the cards tomorrow, Wednesday, August 31 in four locations:

  • Seneca College King Campus orientation, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.;
  • Seneca College@York orientation, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.;
  • York University Terminal, from 3 until 6 p.m.; and
  • the Keswick branch of the Georgina Public Library, 90 Wexford Drive, from 5 until 7 p.m.

They’ll be distributing the cards Thursday, September 1 at two locations:

  • Seneca College King Campus orientation, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.; and
  • Seneca College Markham Campus orientation, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

They’ll be distributing the cards Friday, September 2 at two locations:

  • York University Terminal, from 1:30 until 6:30 p.m.; and
  • York University Parents’ Orientation (Accolade East Building), from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

YRT is loading the cards with $25, including the $6 issuance fee and $19 you can use to pay fares.
