Update: YRT further detours buses in Holland Landing,
starting September 6



Update — Monday, October 24, 9:35 a.m.: Since a strike prevents YRT from operating service to and from Holland Landing, the construction project no longer affects service.


Starting Tuesday, September 6, the Town of East Gwillimbury is reopening

  • Hilltop Drive between Peggs Crescent and Holland River Boulevard (in the village of Holland Landing) during a project to rebuild the roadway.

The Town continues to close Hilltop between Red Mills Drive and Peggs Crescent.

York Region Transit is revising the detour route for buses operating along the 52 Holland Landing route and also detouring buses operating along the 425 Holland Landing / Huron Heights high school special route during this next phase of construction.

Construction on the project started on Monday, July 18.

Starting Tuesday, September 6, south- and northbound buses operate along their regular route to Grist Mill Road and Peggs Crescent, then detour:

west- and southward along Peggs to Hilltop Drive,
resuming their regular route westward along Hilltop.

Buses skip their regular stop

  • on Grist Mill Road at Hilltop Drive and
  • on Hilltop Drive at Plank Road.
425 Holland Landing / Huron Heights high school special

Starting Tuesday, September 6, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Hilltop Drive and Peggs Crescent, then detour:

north- and eastward along Peggs to Grist Mill Road,
resuming their regular route northward along Grist Mill.

Southbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Hilltop Drive at Summit Circle,
  • on Grist Mill Road north of Hilltop Drive and at Stegman Road.

Northbound buses reverse the detour routing.

Northbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Grist Mill Road at Hilltop Drive and
  • on Hilltop Drive at Plank Road.
