TTC detours buses during Shaw Street construction,
starting September 19

Tomorrow, Monday, September 19, the TTC is starting a project to replace the streetcar tracks along Shaw Street between Queen and King Streets West.

Although streetcars do not regularly operate along Shaw, the tracks are key to providing service along the 501 Queen, 504 King and 508 Lake Shore routes, whenever construction, events or emergencies require the TTC to detour the cars.

Since buses operating along the 63 Ossington and 316 Ossington overnight routes also proceed along Shaw Street, the TTC is also detouring the buses during the track work.

63 Ossington
316 Ossington overnight

From Monday, September 19 until November, southbound buses operate along their regular routes to Queen Street West and Shaw Street, then detour:

eastward along Queen West; and then
southward along Strachan Avenue to King Street West,
resuming their regular route southward along Strachan.

Southbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Shaw Street across from Adelaide Street West and
  • on King Street West east of Shaw Street.

Northbound buses operate along their regular routes.
