Gerrard East bridge reopens,
streetcars resume regular route, October 9

Update — Sunday, October 9, 9:35 a.m.: The City continues to work on the project and streetcars continue to detour. Although the TTC’s website previously announced that streetcars would resume service today, it now explains that detours continue until “mid- to late October”.

The TTC’s project to replace the streetcar tracks on the Gerrard Street East bridge across the Don River and the Don Valley Parkway ends Saturday, October 8.

Starting Sunday, October 9, streetcars operating along the 306 Carlton overnight and 506 Carlton routes resume regular service along Gerrard East between Broadview Avenue and Parliament Street.

The cars also resume their regular route west of Lansdowne Avenue that day.

Construction started Monday, July 18.
