Niagara Falls Transit revises routes, October 16



Niagara Falls Transit is making several changes to its services starting next Monday, October 17.

Although the City of Niagara Falls has commissioned an ad hoc committee to review the transit routes in the city, NF Transit is making these mainly minor route changes now before it implements the major changes that are coming soon.


The changes affect these routes: 1 Hospital, 3 Westlane, 6 Chippewa / Crosstown.


6 Chippewa / Crosstown

Saturday, October 15 is the last day that buses operate along the Norton Street / Front Street / Reilly Street / Chippewa Parkway loop.

Starting Sunday, October 16, buses operate along their current route to Portage Road / Willoughby Drive and Main Street, then loop through Chippewa Mondays to Saturdays after 6:30 p.m. and all day Sundays and holidays:

southwestward along Main Street;
southward along Oliver Street;
eastward along Gunning Road; and then
northward along Willoughby Drive.

Starting Monday, October 17, buses operate along their current route to Portage Road / Willoughby Drive and Main Street, then loop through Chippewa Mondays to Saturdays before 6:30 p.m.

southwestward along Main Street;
southward along Sodom Road;
northeastward along Welland Street;
southward along Oliver Street;
eastward along Gunning Road; and then
northward along Willoughby Drive.

1 Hospital

Starting Monday, October 17, inbound buses operate along their current route to Stanley Avenue and McRae Street, then proceed:

northward along Stanley;
eastward along Valley Way;
southeastward along Jepson Street; and then
southward along Slater Street to McRae,
resuming their current route eastward along McRae.

Outbound buses reverse the new routing.

Also starting Monday, October 17, inbound buses operate along their current route to Main and Robinson Streets, then proceed:

southward along Main;
eastward along Murray Street; and then
northward along Stanley Street to Robinson Street,
resuming their current route northward along Stanley.

Outbound buses reverse the new routing.

Buses operating along the 6 Chippewa / Crosstown route continue to serve Robinson Street.

3 Westlane

Niagara Falls Transit is not changing the inbound route.

Starting Monday, October 17, buses operate along their current route to Kalar Road and Catalina Street, then proceed:

eastward along Catalina;
southward along Pitton Road; and then
westward along Westwood Street to Kalar Road,
resuming their current route southward along Kalar.

(The outbound buses now reverse the inbound route through the area, instead of operating along a different route.)

Buses operating along the 15 McLeod / Garner route continue to serve southbound stops along Kalar Road between Catalina Drive and Rideau Street Mondays to Saturdays before 6:30 p.m.

Buses no longer operate along Rideau Street.
