Free rides to sports events in Guelph, Hamilton this weekend

You can ride local public transit for free to major sports events in Guelph tomorrow, Friday, October 21 and in Hamilton Saturday, October 22.

All Guelph Transit routes

You can ride any Guelph Transit bus for free tomorrow to the Guelph Storm game against the Windsor Spitfires at 7:30 p.m. — if you have a valid ticket to the game. You can ride free of fare to and from the Sleeman Centre on Friday evening after 5 p.m. by simply showing the Guelph Transit driver your game ticket.

All Hamilton Street Railway routes

Saturday, October 22, you can ride any HSR bus for free to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats game against the British Columbia Lions at 7 p.m. — if you hold a valid ticket to the game. With the HSR’s Ticket to Ride program, you can ride free of fare to Ivor Wynne Stadium for as much as three hours before game time and free of fare from the stadium until the end of service.

Tiger-Cats Express shuttles

From about 5 until 7 p.m. Saturday, October 22, free HSR shuttle buses also speedily transport ticket-holders from four terminals across the city to the stadium — and back again after the game is over. You can read the schedule for Saturday’s shuttle service here. (.pdf)
