Brampton Transit detours buses along new route,
starting October 24

When Brampton Transit starts operating buses along the new 56 Springbrook route this Monday, October 24, they’ll be operating along a detour, instead of the route that Brampton Transit actually intends to use.

Contracts have not yet paved the intersection of Beacon Hill Drive with Mississauga Road South, so the buses operate counterclockwise around the on-street loop at the southern end of the route, instead of clockwise.

Starting Monday, southbound buses operate along what will be their regular route to Williams Parkway West and Royal West Drive, then proceed:

westward along Williams West;
southward along Mississauga Road North; and then
eastward along Beacon Hill Drive to just east of Mississauga North,
ending their trips.

Northbound buses start their trips on Beacon Hill Drive, just east of Mississauga Road North, then proceed:

eastward along Beacon Hill; and then
northward along Royal West Drive to Williams Parkway West,
resuming their regular route eastward along Williams West.

When construction ends, the buses start operating along their regular route, southbound buses proceed eastward to Williams Parkway West and Royal West Drive, then continue:

southward along Royal West; and then
westward along Beacon Hill Drive to Mississauga Road North,
ending their trips.

Northbound buses start their trips on Beacon Hill Drive, just east of Mississauga Road North, then proceed:

westward along Beacon Hill;
northward along Mississagua North; and then
eastward along Williams Parkway West to Royal West Drive,
continuing along their regular route eastward along Willams West.
