GO replacing ties on Lakeshore East line, delaying trains

GO Transit is starting to replace the track ties on the 09 Lakeshore East line from just east of Union Station to east of Rouge Hill GO Station. This work will improve the reliability of rail service on the line as GO prepares for the winter.

As workers put new ties in place, GO is restricting the speed of the trains operating along this section of track. During the next couple of weeks, the lower speed limit may delay trains from five to 10 minutes behind schedule.

GO recently finished a similar project to replace the ties on the 01 Lakeshore West line between Long Branch and Burlington GO Stations.

You can track the status of the project here.
