Crane blocks street, TTC detours streetcars,
November 12 and 13



The City of Toronto is closing

  • College Street between Ossington Avenue and Shaw Street

overnight Saturday and Sunday to allow contractors to remove a crane from a work site.

The TTC is detouring streetcars operating along the 306 Carlton overnight and 506 Carlton routes, while the street is closed.

From 7 p.m. Saturday, November 12 until 7 a.m. Sunday, November 13, eastbound streetcars operate along their regular route to College Street and Ossington Avenue, then detour:

southward along Ossington;
eastward along Dundas Street West; and then
northward along Bathurst Street to College Street,
resuming their regular route eastward along College.

Eastbound cars skip their regular stops

  • on College Street at Shaw, Crawford, Grace and Clinton Streets, Euclid and Palmerston Avenues and Bathurst Street.

Instead, eastbound cars drop off and pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Ossington Avenue at Churchill Avenue,
  • on Dundas Street West at Shaw Street, across from Grace Street at Bellwoods and Euclid Avenues and Bathurst Street and
  • on Bathurst Street at Nassau and College Streets.

Westbound cars reverse the detour routing.

Westbound cars skip their regular stops

  • on College Street at Palmerston Boulevard, Euclid Avenue, Clinton, Grace, Crawford and Shaw Streets and Ossington Avenue.

Instead, westbound cars drop off and pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Bathurst Street across from Nassau Street and at Dundas Street West,
  • on Dundas Street West at Euclid Avenue, Grace and Crawford Streets and Ossington Avenue and
  • on Ossington Avenue across from Churchill Avenue and at College Street.
