TTC repairing tracks on Bathurst Street bridge,
detours streetcars, December 5 to 12



The TTC is repairing the streetcar tracks on the Bathurst Street bridge across the Canadian National / GO Transit tracks (between Front Street West and Fort York Boulevard), starting at 9:30 a.m. today, Monday, December 5. The work continues until 5 a.m. Monday, December 12.

While the work proceeds, the TTC is detouring streetcars operating along the 511 Bathurst route. Buses replace the cars.


511 Bathurst

From 9:30 a.m. Monday, December 5 until 7 a.m. Monday, December 12, southbound streetcars operate along their regular route to Bathurst Street and King Street West, then detour:

eastward along King West;
southward along Spadina and Lower Spadina Avenues;
westward along Queens Quay West; and then
northward along Bathurst to Fleet Street,
resuming their regular route westward along Fleet.

Southbound cars skip their regular stops

  • on Bathurst Street south of Wellington Street West, across from Front Street West and at Fort York Boulevard.

Instead, southbound cars drop off and pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on King Street West at Portland Street, across from Brant Street and at Spadina Avenue,
  • on Spadina Avenue at Front Street West,
  • on Lower Spadina Avenue at Fort York Boulevard,
  • on Queens Quay West west of Lower Spadina Avenue and Dan Leckie Way and
  • on Bathurst Street north of Queens Quay West.

Northbound cars reverse the detour routing.

Northbound cars skip their regular stops

  • on Bathurst Street at Fort York Boulevard, north of Front Street West and at Wellington and King Streets West.

Instead, northbound cars drop off and pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Queens Quay West east of Eireann Quay / Bathurst Street and Dan Leckie Way,
  • on Lower Spadina Avenue north of Queens Quay West and Bremner Boulevard,
  • on Spadina Avenue north of Front Street West and
  • on King Street West west of Brant Street and at Portland and Bathurst Streets.

Buses replace the cars on Bathurst Street south of Queen Street West and on Fleet Street.

511 Bathurst bus

From 9:30 a.m. Monday, December 5 until 7 a.m. Monday, December 12, southbound buses start their trips in Wolseley Loop at Bathurst and Wolseley Streets, just north of Queen Street West, then proceed:

southward along Bathurst;
westward along Fleet Street; and then
westward along the access road into Exhibition Loop,
ending their trips in Exhibition Loop.

Buses likely drop off and pick up passengers at temporary stops beside the curb

  • on Bathurst Street at Queen Street West, Portugal Square and King Street West, south of Wellington Street West, across from Front Street West and at Fort York Boulevard, - on Fleet Street west of Bathurst and Bastion Streets and Fort York Boulevard,
  • on the Exhibition Loop access road west of Strachan Avenue and
  • in Exhibition Loop.

Northbound buses reverse the routing.
