TTC detours streetcars during Broadview sewer repairs,
December 11



Update: 5:49 p.m. — Today’s sewer repairs — at Dundas Street East and Broadview Avenue — have ended and streetcars have resumed regular service.


Note — The TTC has advised that it’s already detouring the cars today, Friday, December 9 while the City repairs the sewers during a separate project on Broadview Avenue.


The City of Toronto is repairing sewers on

  • Broadview Avenue between Gerrard and Queen Streets East

Sunday morning and afternoon.

The TTC is detouring streetcars operating along the 504 King and 505 Dundas routes. Separate shuttle buses replace streetcar service along both King Street East and Dundas Street East east of Parliament Street.


505 Dundas

From 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Sunday, December 11, westbound cars operate along their regular route to Broadview Avenue and Gerrard Street East, then detour:

westward along Gerrard East; and then
southward along Parliament Street to Dundas Street East,
resuming their regular route westward along Dundas East.

Westbound cars skip their regular stops

  • on Broadview Avenue at Mount Stephen Street and Dundas Street East and
  • on Dundas Street East at Munro, River, Sumach and Sackville Streets, across from Regent Street and at Parliament Street.

Instead, westbound cars drop off and pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Gerrard Street East at St. Matthews Road, River, Sumach, Sackville and Parliament Streets and
  • on Parliament Street at Oak Street and Dundas Street East.

Eastbound cars reverse the detour routing.

Eastbound cars skip their regular stops

  • on Dundas Street East east of Regent Street, at Sackville, Sumach, River and Munro Streets and Broadview Avenue and
  • on Broadview Avenue across from Mount Stephen Street and at Gerrard Street East.
505 Dundas shuttle bus

From 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Sunday, December 11, buses replace streetcars along parts of the 505 Dundas route.

Westbound buses start their trips in Broadview Station, then proceed:

westward along Erindale Avenue,
southward along Broadview Avenue; and then
westward along Dundas Street East to Parliament Street,
ending their trips.

Westbound buses drop off and pick up passengers at stops

  • in Broadview Station terminal,
  • on Erindale Avenue at Broadview Avenue,
  • on Broadview Avenue at Danforth Avenue, across from Wolfrey Avenue, Millbrook Crescent, Bain, Withrow, Langley and Simpson Avenues, Gerrard Street East, Mount Stephen Street and Dundas Street East and
  • on Dundas Street East at Munro, River, Sumach, Sackville and Parliament Streets.

Eastbound buses reverse the routing.

From 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Sunday, December 11, westbound cars operate along their regular route to Broadview Avenue and Gerrard Street East, then detour:

westward along Gerrard East; and then
southward along Parliament Street to King Street East,
resuming their regular route westward along King East.

  • on Broadview Avenue at Mount Stephen Street, Dundas and Queen Streets East,
  • on Queen Street East at Carroll Street and
  • on King Street East at River, Sumach and Sackville Streets, across from Trinity Street and at Parliament Street.
