Just 50 cents lets passengers ride GRT buses
to and from GO trains

GO train passengers can board a Grand River Transit bus for just 50 cents, with valid proof of a GO Transit train fare to travel to and from the Kitchener Station.

Along with your 50-cent “Connect to GO” fare, you’ll need to show a valid GO Transit train ticket or pass to your GRT bus operator when you board the bus.

Remember to ask the bus operator for a transfer, if you need to board the BusPLUS shuttle after traveling on GRT.

Valid GO Transit train fares are:

  • adult single, two-ride and ten-ride tickets, day passes and monthly passes;
  • senior or child single, two-ride, and ten-ride tickets, day passes, and monthly passes; and
  • student ten-ride tickets and monthly passes.

When you’re traveling to the Kitchener train station, your single-ride, two-ride and ten-ride GO Transit ticket must have at least one “un-cancelled” ride remaining so you can take advantage of the 50-cent GRT fare to GO.

You can’t use GO Transit group passes and employee passes or PRESTO fare cards with the “Connect to GO” 50-cent fare.

Registered MobilityPLUS passengers can also Connect to GO for just 50 cents. When you book your trip to the Kitchener Train Station, make sure you let the reservation clerk know that you are a GO Transit rider. Along with your 50-cent fare, you’ll need to show a valid GO Transit ticket or pass to your GRT MobilityPLUS operator when you board the vehicle.
