Update: Queen / Dufferin bridge project ends early,
streetcars resume regular service

City of Toronto contractors have finished installing two new bridge spans on the east side of the railway bridge over Queen Street West at Dufferin Street, three days earlier than they expected.

The early end to the work means that, starting today, Friday, December 16, TTC streetcars operating along the 301 Queen overnight and 501 Queen routes have resumed their regular routes.

The work was part of the ongoing Metrolinx / GO Transit project to upgrade the Georgetown South rail corridor and to build the Air Rail Link between Toronto Pearson International Airport and Union Station.

Work on this part of the project — and the streetcar detours — started Friday, November 25.
