Subway service north of Eglinton after 12:30 a.m.,
December 25, 26, 27, January 1, 2

The TTC’s long-standing project to upgrade the tunnel liner along the 1 Yonge - University - Spadina subway line north of Eglinton Station continues into 2012.

However, due different service schedules and more people riding the subway after midnight during the holidays, the TTC’s revising the schedule for the work to continue.

The TTC is operating subway trains north of Eglinton Station after midnight until about 2 a.m.:

  • Christmas, Sunday, December 25,
  • Boxing Day, Monday, December 26,
  • Tuesday, December 27,
  • New Year’s Day, Sunday, January 1, 2012 and
  • Monday, January 2, 2012.

Usually, the TTC stops subway service north of Eglinton Station after 12:30 a.m. Monday to Saturday mornings. It operates frequent buses between Finch and Eglinton Stations those nights.

It operates regular subway service until about 2 a.m. early Sunday mornings, probably because it open the subway later Sunday mornings and the contractors have enough time to complete their work. (The subway doesn’t usually reopen until 9 a.m. Sundays, instead of the usual 6 a.m. Mondays to Saturdays.)
