You can ride Niagara Region Transit buses free of fare,
March 21

Niagara Region Transit is offering free rides on its buses next Wednesday, March 21.

You don’t have to pay a fare when you board any bus operating along the six “hub-to-hub” routes that day. These routes connect transit terminals in Niagara Falls, St. Catharines and Welland.

Service begins at 7 a.m. and continues hourly until 8 p.m. You’ll have to pay the appropriate regular fare if you transfer to local Niagara Falls Transit, St. Catharines Transit Commission and Welland Transit buses.

Residents using the link service between Fort Erie and Niagara Falls must still pay the local $3.50 fare.

Niagara Region Transit funds half the trips on the link service between Port Colborne and Welland, so those trips are also free of fare. You won’t have to pay a fare when you ride the buses serving the 8:35 a.m., 1:20 p.m. and 5:55 p.m. trips. You’ll have to pay $3.50 when boarding all other buses serving the route.

Niagara Region Transit is partnering with Newstalk CKTB 610 to offer “Free Transit Day”.
