MiWay detouring buses during busway construction,
this weekend, April 28, 29, 30



The Region of Peel and the City of Mississauga are closing

  • Dixie Road (Regional Road 4) between South Gateway Road and Eastgate Parkway

this weekend, Saturday, April 28 and Sunday, April 29.

City contractors are installing storm sewers, part of the project to build the future Mississauga Busway, a bus rapid transit line.

MiWay is detouring buses operating along the 5 Dixie route, while the road is closed.


5 Dixie

From 7 a.m. Saturday, April 28 until 5 a.m. Monday, April 30, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Dixie Road and Eglinton Avenue East, then detour:

eastward along Eglinton East; and then
south- and westward along Eastgate Parkway to Dixie,
resuming their regular route southward along Dixie.

Southbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Dixie Road north of Eglinton Avenue West, at Crestlawn Drive, South Gateway Road and Eastgate Parkway.

Instead, southbound buses drop off and pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Eglinton Avenue East east of Dixie Road, across from Matheson Boulevard East, east of Matheson Boulevard East and at Eastgate Parkway and
  • on Eastgate Parkway south of Eglinton Avenue East, across from Tahoe Boulevard and at Fieldgate Drive.

Northbound buses reverse the detour routing.

Northbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Dixie Road at South Gateway Road, across from Crestlawn Drive and at Eglinton Avenue East.

Instead, northbound buses drop off and pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Eastgate Parkway south of Eglinton Avenue East and
  • on Eglinton Avenue East at Matheson Boulevard East and Dixie Road.
