Subway construction update:
St. Regis Crescent / Keele and Kodiak Crescent / Whitehorse

TTC and City of Toronto contractors continue to work on the project to extend the 1 Yonge - University - Spadina subway northwest beyond Downsview Station to Vaughan.

Work is progressing at two sites, where the contractors are building the southern subway tunnels.

In February 2011, they started working at a site on the north side of St. Regis Crescent, east of Keele Street. The contractors expect to finish this part of the project later this year.

In the meantime, they’re installing formwork and placing a roof over the tunnels. They’ll be working from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Mondays to Fridays.

The work may block traffic from the westbound curb lane of St. Regis Crescent. The sidewalks remain open at all times.

Construction also continues at Kodiak Crescent and Whitehorse Road. They started work in this neighbourhood last August and also expect to finish this work later this year.

They’ll be excavating (digging) and installing excavation support systems Mondays to Fridays from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Lane Restrictions

The work may restrict lanes or divert traffic on both Kodiak Crescent and Whitehorse Road. Due to the nature of the work motorists and TTC passengers riding buses operating along the 107 Keele North route may face traffic delays. Motorists cannot park on the street near the construction area.
